Since its release, Soori’s film Mandaadi has drawn much appreciation for its narrative, performances, and ocean-based action scenes. Hailing from director Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, a former assistant of filmmaker Vetri Maaran, the film stars Soori alongside Suhas, Mahima Nambiar, and Sathyaraj. Having become a hit, producer Elred Kumar's film marks a major personal milestone for the director. The film is written and directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, and it has dialogues by him and Ameer Jamal Khan.

Vetri Maaran underscored the immense effort poured into the project, noting, “The hard work and dedication of the whole team have made a huge impact among viewers in theatres. The audience is connecting with the film,” as quoted by The Times of India from Cinema Vikatan.

Vetri Maaran added that the encouraging reception extends beyond Tamil viewers into Telugu-speaking regions as well. For the director, this response across language barriers stands out as one of the project's greatest assets.

​The director offered high praise for Soori, Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, and Elred Kumar. He added, “I would like to wish Mathimaran, Soori and Elred Kumar for the film's success. It takes plenty of courage to make a film with this kind of a subject and that too with such dedication.”

Mandaadi centres on a boat race in a coastal community. Soori and Suhas' characters are part of the same race team, but they part ways following a conflict between them, only to reunite for the coastal event. Sathyaraj appears in a flashback sequence in the film. It also stars Mithun Jai Sankar, Ravindravjay, Bala Saravanan, and Stun Siva, among others.

On the technical front, the film has composer GV Prakash, cinematographer SR Kathir, editor Pradeep E Ragav, and production designer DRK Kiran. The work from stunt directors such as Peter Hein, Dhilip Subbarayan, and Mahesh Mathew have been gaining much appreciation from the audience, especially a boat race in the climax.
