Actor-politician Sarath Kumar took to social media to pen a note on the recently released sports-drama, Mandaadi. Starring Soori, Mahima Nambiar, and Suhas, the film opened in theatres on September 10.

"Speechless after watching the film Mandaadi, a daring film making, never before attempted in Indian cinema, may sound exaggerated but that is the truth. Shot in the sea entirely, totally stunning picturization, guts of the actors and technicians to braving the challenges at sea. Starts as a simple sailboat race at sea entwined with human values, love, sacrifices, I can go on," wrote Sarath Kumar.

He added, "Congratulations to the entire team. Specially the director Mathimaran Pugazhendhi for visualising and executing this must watch film. Actor Soori has lived the character and has gone a notch up in selecting and giving his best performance ever supported by all the actors, highlighted by GV's (Prakash Kumar) music and producer Elred (Kumar) for his bold attempt and confidence to make this Oscar worthy film."

Mandaadi follows the story of Muthukali (Soori), who is forced to return to his native coastal village, after 20 years in exile, to save the life of his friend's son, from brother-in-arms turned for, Sattapuli (Suhas).

The cast of the film also includes Sathyaraj, Mithun Jai Shankar, Krish Hassan, Ravindra Vijay, Bala Saravanan, Ramachandran Durairaj, and Aadukalam Naren, among others.
