Romancham and Aavesham director Jithu Madhavan's upcoming film with Suriya has been titled Scene. The film's production banner, Suriya and Jyotika's Zhagaram Studios made the announcement with a title teaser on Wednesday. Ever since the announcement about the collaboration between Suriya and Jithu Madhavan, there has been much excitement among fans. The sense of anticipation has only gone a notch higher following the release of the teaser.

The Scene teaser has created much buzz among the audience, as it hints at a unique film for Suriya that goes away from its usual star vehicles in Tamil cinema. The teaser suggests that the actor has dived into his character for the film, while submitting himself to the creative vision of Jithu Madhavan. At least, this is what the audience feels about the film based on its teaser. Scene also stars Nazriya Nazim and Naslen.

The last film starring Suriya that is widely regarded as not being a star vehicle is the 2021 legal social drama Jai Bhim. Since then, the actor has mainly been doing commercial entertainers, such as Etharkkum Thunindhavan, Kanguva, Karuppu, and Vishwanath and Sons. While his collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, titled Retro, promised a deep exploration of the actor's character, the film had a mixed performance commercially and critically, although it reportedly became a box office success, grossing around 230 crore from theatres.

With Scene, Suriya fans and general film buffs are hoping that the film would utilise the actor in him better than his recent commercial entertainers. Another buzz that has been doing the rounds since the release of its teaser is about Naslen playing an antagonist in it. The teaser has a passing shot of a character holding a lollipop, and judging by the shirt Naslen wears in the recent BTS video for the film, it is the actor's character.
