A part of the original soundtrack from Karthik Subbaraj's upcoming film Dorothy, composed by Ilaiyaraaja, has been released by the makers. The jukebox, comprising 18 separate pieces of background music from the film, is available on Sony Music South's YouTube channel. Starring Keerthy Suresh, Sanath, and Rishikanth, the film's jukebox has been receiving positive response from listeners ever since its release online.

Director Karthik Subbaraj describes it as "The Raaja Bliss". Recently, Karthik revealed that Ilaiyaraaja wanted the release of the background score from the film as an album before the film's theatrical debut. Recalling his conversation with the legendary composer, the filmmaker said that he was excited to have the composer onboard after he showed its first cut to the music director. Karthik wrote, "I was so so excited and was processing the fact that Raaja sir agreed to compose for my film and that's when Raaja sir said 'The Background score should be released as an album before the release of the film'. My mind voice was... 'Rightu...Appo Sambavam Confirm... ' and here we are now..."

The background music for the film will be available in limited Vinyl records as well. It has also been presented as a 40-minute concert at Image Auditorium in RA Puram, Chennai.

Karthik Subbaraj's follow-up to Retro, starring Suriya, is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Achin Jain. It is backed by Sikhya Entertainment and Dhammam Films, as well as presented by Sikhya and Jio Studios. Saravanan Chandran is credited as its additional screenwriter. On the technical front, the film also has cinematographer S Thirunavukkarasu, editor Ganesh Siva, and action choreographer Dinesh Subbarayan.

Dorothy is slated for a September 25 release in theatres worldwide. Before its theatrical release, it will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, Friday.
