Actor Ajith Kumar has thanked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay for announcing plans to develop a seperate Motorsports City. The upcoming specialised zone for motorsports fans will be developed ini Chennai.

In a statement to released by his team, Ajith Kumar said, "I thank the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and the Tamil Nadu State Government, for encouraging youngsters into sports, for identifying the talent within them, and for giving opportunities by way of these several the much needed attention by announcing new initatives to develop infrastructure."

He added, "Having currently being involved in motorsports, I would like to rephrase a quote by astronaut Mr Neil Armstrong ‘One small step by the Tamil Nadu govt, one giant leap for motorsports in India!’ Wishing The Honourable Chief Minister Thiru C Joseph Vijay Avl the very best in all his endeavors. May all the new sports endeavors by the Tamil Nadu Government triumph."

TN CM Vijay announced a new Olympic City and a Motorsports City, in Chennai, to foster growth in sports.

Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar has been participating in endurance races across the world. This journey will be seen in a new documentary, Gladiators, which is set to arrive in theatres. The upcoming documentary is produced by Shalini Ajithkumar, the actor's wife.
