Actor Jai’s upcoming horror comedy, tentatively titled Thiyagaraja Talkies - Production No. 1, went on floors with a traditional pooja ceremony in Tenkasi on Tuesday. The film marks the maiden production of Thiyagaraja Talkies, with Jai playing the lead role and Delna Davis cast opposite him.

The film is directed by debutant Siva Prasanna and produced by A M Prabhakaran under the Thiyagaraja Talkies banner. Tenkasi District Collector Ranjit Singh, IAS, attended the launch as the chief guest and switched on the camera, while Prabhakaran sounded the clapboard in the presence of businessman S Saminatha Pandian.

Vijay Ulaganath has been roped in as the cinematographer, with Jayachandran handling the art direction and V J Sabu Joseph overseeing the editing. The makers have said that the shoot will continue in Tenkasi for 23 days, beginning Tuesday. Further details about the film’s plot and supporting cast are yet to be announced.

Jai was last seen in Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai. Apart from this project, the actor is also working on a film, with the working title AGS29, directed by MS Anandan, who made his debut with the Vishal-starrer Chakra (2021). He will share the screen with Priyanka Mohan and Yogi Babu in the AGS Productions project.
