Actor Vijay Sethupathi is basking in the success of his recent drama Baththa. Speaking at the success meet, the actor said that he wanted it to succeed for the director Balaji Tharaneetharan.
He said, "I believed in Balaji because his previous films were excellent. He struggled for years. I want Baththa to bring him success, wealth, and happiness," he said, wishing Balaji, "Make a bigger film, earn well, and keep creating beautiful cinema."
The Maharaja actor also went on to thank Baththa producers for trusting Balaji's vision. "Huge thanks to my brother and friend Atlee for believing in Baththa. He told me that he will take this film to theatres and awards," he said, adding that he doesn't perform effortlessly. "People often say that I act very easily. But I work extremely hard for every film. I ask a lot of questions because I want to learn."
Baththa, which was released on October 2, opened to mostly positive reviews from critics and fans alike. Prashanth Vallavan from CE wrote in his review of Baththa, “Baththa has the distinct charm of offering whatever you want out of it. It could be a fun commercial family entertainer if you choose to look at it that way, or it could read as a parable on an arrogant man’s ego death. The film is also a deep psychological dissection of how much of the human experience, the choices we make, are dictated by the far simpler unconscious imprints left by our childhood."
