Soori-Suhas led Mandaadi crosses Rs 100 crores in Tamil Nadu

Mandaadi, which crossed Rs 100 crores worldwide after 11 days in theatre, has now cross two new milestones in terms of box office collections

Mandaadi, the sports drama led by Soori and Suhas, has acheived two new milestones at the box office. The film has not only crossed Rs 100 crores in Tamil Nadu, the film has also crossed Rs 150 crores in collections at the world wide box office.

The film opened in theatres on September 10, alongside Karthi's spy thriller Sardar 2. After receiving positive reviews from critics and fans, the film went on to perform well at the box office, consecutively, through three weeks in theatres.

According to box office tracker Sacnilk, the film has collected Rs 1.60 crores (gross) on the 25th day of its theatrical run, at the Indian box office.

The cast of the film also includes Mahima Nambiar, Sathyaraj, Mithun Jai Shankar, Krish Hassan, Ravindra Vijay, Bala Saravanan, Ramachandran Durairaj, and Aadukalam Naren, among others. The film follows two rival teams of sail boat racing, who fight it out to be recognised as the official team of their village.

It is set to premiere on Netflix on October 8.

CE's review of the Mandaadi reads, "With powerful performances, emotional exchanges and cultural documentation, the film renews the bond between the sea and the fishers, with the rest making the narrative slips negligible. That's the biggest trophy Mandaadi wins."
