Kamal Haasan remembers Singeetham Srinivasa Rao: 'Now I aspire to live like he did'

Kamal Haasan penned a note, remembering the late filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, with whom he has multiple collaborations, beginning in 1979

Actor and Member of Parliament Kamal Haasan took to social media to remember the legendary filmmaker, Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, on the latter's passing. The director, died at a hospital in Chennai, according to reports.

"Singeetham garu, true to his own will, moved on from the life at the prime of his youth. This youthful spirit is not something that rubs off on others easily. I was among the friends and disciples, who walked hand-in-hand with him, hoping that this youthful spirit will be imbibed in me," wrote Kamal Haasan through his X handle.

He added, "Dying young need not be a tragedy. It can be glorious. Singeetham Srinivasa Rao is a great example. I have admired him since I knew him. Now I aspire to live like he did."

Starting with Sommokadidhi Sokokadidhi (1979), Singeetham Srinivasa Rao have collaborated on films like Raja Paarvai (1981), Pesum Padam (1987), Apoorva Sagodharargal (1989), Michael Madhana Kama Rajan (1990), Kaathala Kaathala (1998), and Mumbai Xpress (2005).
