The Sundeep Kishan starrer has done some solid business at the box office so far

Sigma, directed by Chief Minister Vijay's son Jason Sanjay in his debut, opened in theatres on October 02, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanty. It has received mixed to negative reviews from critics, who have been critical of the screenplay, although some of them have appreciated the technical scale of the film and its overall entertainment value.

Despite the criticism, the film has opened really well at the box office. According to data from the box office tracker Sacnilk, it earned a net collection of 2.35 crore on the opening day of its release. So far this Saturday, it has earned around 94 lakh. In gross terms, the Sigma box office collection stands at 3.81 crore, according to the latest available data from the tracker.

The film follows a youngster named Guru (Sundeep Kishan) whose path crosses with a drug racket even as he faces much debt and tries to preserve his familial property. His life situation forces Guru to come up with a heist plan with his friends, with an eye on reclaiming what he and his family have lost, and this leads to chaos and confrontations.

Besides Sundeep Kishan, Sigma stars Sampath Raj, Faria Abdullah, Raju Sundaram, Yog Japee, and Shiv Panditt.

In our review, Akshay Kumar wrote, "The film proves Jason can stage big action sequences and handle multiple characters and their intentions. Take, for instance, the stunt scene in a multi-level parking area. But the big miss is that Sigma makes a weak case for the filmmaker's ability to write complex emotions. This, to a large extent, pulls down everything else Jason has achieved in the film."

Since Jason Sanjay's directorial debut has hit theatres alongside several other biggies, including Vijay Sethupathi's Baththa, Ajay Devgn's Drishyam: The Conclusion, and Tom Cruise's Digger, its box office fate remains to be seen.
