Director Jithu Madhavan is gearing up for the release of his next film Scene, starring Suriya in the lead role. The upcoming film marks Jithu Madhavan's debut in Tamil cinema. For the unversed, he is known for helming films such as 2023's Romancham and 2024's Aavesham. Scene is slated for a November 06 release in theatres worldwide.
Ahead of its release, Jithu Madhavan has revealed that Gokulam Gopalan's Sree Gokulam Movies will distribute the film in Kerala. The filmmaker made the announcement on Friday with a new poster featuring Suriya's police officer, named Inbaraj, walking through a line of cops saluting him.
Jyotika and Suriya are producing the film through their Zhagaram Studios and 2D Entertainment banners. On the other hand, Jaishree Damodaran serves as a co-producer for the film.
Besides Suriya, Scene stars Naslen and Nazriya Nazim in important roles. The cast includes Anandraj, Lal, and Raj Priyan, among others. There has been much speculation among the audience that Naslen plays an antagonist in the film, but the makers are yet to confirm the same.
Judging by the recently released title teaser, Scene is expected to be a different film for Suriya, marking a departure from his usual commercial outings. While the film also appears to have mass masala elements, which are typical of Indian cinema, the title teaser suggests that it has a distinctive Jithu Madhavan filmmaking touch to it and a Suriya character with some interesting layers. The title of the film was even leaked before the makers announced it through a teaser because of the Censor Board revealing the said information beforehand through its official website.
Scene marks the 47th film in Suriya's career. Recently, the makers of the film dropped a poster marking its 47-day countdown with a character's watch, seemingly belong to Inbaraj, mentioning 4:47 as the time.
