Director Ram's long-awaited film Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, starring Nivin Pauly, Soori, and Anjali, hit theatres on Thursday. On its release day, actor Aju Varghese, who made his Tamil debut with a role in Ram's Paranthu Po, commended it on social media. Aju shared that he has watched the film two times and described it as "a unique, brilliant and refreshing addition to Indian cinema." The actor added, "Only a visionary director like Ram sir could execute such a distinct and earthly concept."

Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai stars Nivin Pauly in the role of an immortal who has been alive for over 8000 years. Reportedly, the story follows the immortal's journey to find his long lost lover, played by Anjali. Soori plays a youngster who happens to get into an altercation with the immortal on a moving a train. Speaking about the performances, Aju shared, "Hats off Nivin Pauly for accepting and proving to be the immortal man, Soori sir for the comic relief and the actor you are as well and Anjali ma'am, as always with such ease of donning any role u play."

Aju Varghese also made a special mention of Ram's entire technical team for their work on the film.

Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai marks Ram's first release since Paranthu Po, which hit theatres in July last year. According to reports, Paranthu Po earned around 7 crore from theatres, and it is considered a commercial success due to its modest budget of 3 crore.

Interestingly, the Nivin-Soori starrer was wrapped way back in April 2022, a couple of years before Paranthu Po's production was completed. The film had its world premiere at the 2024 Rotterdam Film Festival, where it had "a fantastic reception," according to Nivin.
