Earlier this Thursday, the makers of Gatta Kusthi 2 announced Karunakaran, Mokksha and child actor Zara Zyanna as the new additions to the film's cast. The film stars Karunakaran as Partha and Mokksha as Meenu. As reported earlier, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Vishnu Vishal are coming back for the Gatta Kusthi sequel. Also returning for it are actors Kaali Venkat, Karunas, Munishkanth, Lizzie Antony, Gajaraj, and Sreeja Ravi in their respective roles. The film is written and directed by Chella Ayyavu, who also helmed the first part.
Gatta Kusthi 2 is produced by Ishari K Ganesh under the banner of Vels Film International and Vishnu Vishal through his eponymous label. On the technical front, it has music by Sean Roldan, cinematography by Bhaskaran PM, editing by Barath Vikraman, action by Supreme Sundar, and art direction by Jayachandran S.
Gatta Kusthi released theatrically in December 2022 and later became available for streaming on Netflix. The film follows a wrestling champion (Aishwarya Lekshmi) who struggles to conceal the truth about who she actually is from her chauvinistic husband (Vishnu Vishal). While the makers are yet to announce the film's storyline, it is expect to continue from where the first part left off.
Vishnu Vishal announced that a plan for the sequel to the 2022 film at a pre-release event for his production Oho Enthan Baby, which also stars him alongside his cousin brother Rudra and Mithila Palkar. Subsequently, the makers confirm the development of the sequel.
Gatta Kusthi 2 is slated for a July 03 release in theatres. Subsequently, the film is expect to drop on Netflix.
