On Tuesday, Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay was called upon by actor Arjun. The occasion was an intriguing occasion as one of Arjun's well received films, Mudhalvan (1999), saw the actor play the CM of TN for a day.

Directed by Shankar, the 1999 film, featured Arjun as Pugazhenthi a television anchor, who is challenged by the sitting TN CM Aranganathar (Raghuvaran) to work as the CM for a day, after the latter is challenged on his governance.

The film also stars Manisha Koirala, Manivannan, Vadivelu, Laila, Kochi Haneefa, and Vijayakumar, among others. Shankar later remade the film in Hindi, titled Nayak: The Real Hero (2001), with Anil Kapoor in the lead.

Arjun will be seen next in the action drama Blast, alongside Abhirami and Preity Mukundhan. In a press event for the film, Arjun congratulated Vijay on his victory at the elections and congratulated Vijay on joining the long list of winners.
