Sivakarthikeyan-Seyon director Sivakumar Murugesan team up for independent song

The song, titled 'Velum Mayilum,' is set to release tomorrow

Earlier this Tuesday, Sivakarthikeyan announced an independent song, where he is joining hands with director Sivakumar Murugesan. Titled 'Velum Mayilum,' the track is sung and composed by Nivas K Prasanna based on Sivakarthikeyan's lyrics. On the other hand, it is conceived and directed by Sivakumar Murugesan, who directed Sivakarthikeyan Productions' Thaai Kizhavi and is attached to helm the actor's upcoming film, Seyon.

The makers of 'Velum Mayilum' have only dropped a promo for the song for now. The full song, which marks Sivakarthikeyan's first independent single, is set to release at 5:00 pm tomorrow. The actor, who produces the song through his namesake banner, also appears in the promo for it. The promo shows a character, seemingly the Amaran star, walking through a group of women lined up at either side holding peacock feathers over his head.

Interestingly, the recently released Seyon poster announcing Bhagyashri Borse's casting in the film also feature her character with a peacock feather in her hand.

For the uninitiated, Seyon marks Sivakumar's second directorial. His debut film Thaai Kizhavi, starring Radikaa Sarathkumar in the lead role, was met with critical acclaim and much audience appreciation. Kamal Haasan attended a special screening for the film and had a strong emotional reaction to it, which contributed to him being onboard for Seyon. Kamal is set to produce the film with R Mahendran through the Raaj Kamal Films International banner. Seyon is set to hit theatres in October this year.

Besides his work as a composer, Nivas K Prasanna is also known for his tracks as a playback singer. As a singer, his credits include 'Theekkoluthi' from Bison Kaalamaadan as well as 'Enga Vechi Podhachita,' 'Amma Thaaye,' and 'Manadhiley' from Thaai Kizhavi.
