Just hours after taking the oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Vijay has found himself at the centre of another viral moment from the swearing-in ceremony at Chennai’s Nehru Stadium.

A video circulating widely on social media shows Vijay helping a group of people lift and move a table on stage shortly after the ceremony concluded. Dressed in his formal white attire, the newly sworn-in chief minister is seen casually stepping in to assist those around him before continuing with the event proceedings.

The clip quickly began trending online, with supporters and fans praising what they described as Vijay’s simplicity and grounded nature despite assuming the state’s highest office. Several users on X shared the video with comments highlighting his humility and willingness to help with a seemingly ordinary task moments after becoming chief minister.

Just before this moment, Vijay was seen signing his very first orders as the chief minister, following which he gave a speech and took a selfie with everybody who was on stage and in the audience.

The moment has added to the wave of emotional and celebratory reactions surrounding Vijay’s political ascent. Earlier in the day, the actor-turned-politician delivered a strongly worded speech after taking the oath, calling himself “one among the people” and promising transparent governance under his administration.

During the address, Vijay also stressed that there would be “no power centres” within his government and asserted that he alone would be accountable for the administration’s functioning. He further promised action on women’s safety, narcotics control and infrastructure development while assuring people that his government would function with transparency.

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam emerged as the single largest party in the recently concluded Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, paving the way for Vijay to become chief minister less than two years after formally launching the party.
