Even as reports circulated that Vijay may not pay a visit to the mortal remains of RB Choudhary, with his political endeavours keeping him busy, the actor-turned-politician busted speculations by going in person to condole an inconsolable Jiiva. Videos of Vijay paying his respects and hugging an emotional Jiiva have gone viral since.
Under his Super Good Films banner, RB Choudhary has backed multiple films starring Vijay, including the latter's breakout in Poove Unakkaga (1996). Other films include Love Today (1997), Shahjahan (2001), Thirupaachi (2005), and Jilla (2014), featuring Vijay in the lead role. Additionally, Vijay also shared the screen with Jiiva in Shankar's Nanban.
While Vijay's and Jiiva's friendship goes all the years back, the latter once called the former his elder brother from another mother while describing their bond. Speaking to Galatta in an old interview, Jiiva said, "We've done nearly seven to eight films with him under Super Good Films. We have a great bond. Even when I met him on the sets of Leo, he told Lokesh Kanagaraj that he enjoyed doing Nanban because of me."
Furthermore, Jiiva explained what one should learn from Vijay. "A lot of people should try to imbibe the balanced aura Vijay has. No matter how excited or sad he may be, he has a very calm way of handling it."
RB Choudhary passed away due to a car accident in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Starting his career in 1988, RB Choudhary went on to produce films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. His collaborations with Sarath Kumar, Vijay, and Venkatesh have been well received by audiences across languages. He is survived by Mahjabeen and four sons.
On the work front, Jiiva was last seen in Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil. He is currently working on Jolliya Iruntha Oruthan, his reunion with M Rajesh and Yuvan Shankar Raja after Siva Manasula Sakthi. Vijay, on the other hand, is awaiting the release of his long-delayed Jana Nayagan.
