After nearly a month of its theatrical run, Vignesh Shivan-Pradeep Ranganathan's Love Insurance Kompany (LIK) made its OTT premiere on Prime Video. Post its big screen outing, the makers have shared that the sci-fi romantic entertainer collected over Rs 66 crore in its box office run in 25 days.

LIK which opened with much-anticipation, earned Rs 10 crore on its opening day worldwide, which came down to over just Rs 1 crore (in India) after its fifth day in theatres. While the film generated strong interest among fans and family audiences, it failed to sustain the momentum that other Pradeep Ranganthan films created after receiving mixed reviews.

However, interestingly, LIK shares a surprising connection with Vignesh Shivan's previous film Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal (2022) as it too earned Rs 66 crore worldwide at the end of its theatrical run. The film starred Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha and Nayanthara in leading roles.

Besides Pradeep, Krithi Shetty, and SJ Suryah also star in lead roles in LIK. Gouri Kishan, Yogi Babu, Seeman, Shah Ra, Malavika, Mysskin, Anandaraj and Sunil Reddy, among others play supporting roles.

LIK, set in 2040, revolves around Suriyan's (SJ Suryah) eponymous app that monitors the love lives of couples and helps them insure their relationships. When his new app feature 'love score' hints at a failure in his relationship with Dheema (Krithi Shetty), Pradeep Ranganathan's Vibe Vassey is determined to prove it wrong and thwart the plans of Suriyan.

Our CE review of the film read, "Love Insurance Kompany introduces a lot of promising ideas only to suffer a dramatic fall, more dramatic than the film itself. Like Gen Z films that make token cultural references, LIK has refurbished the overdone social media interface with a specious futurism."

Music composer Anirudh once again reunited with director Vignesh for LIK. The crew of the film also includes Ravi Varman as the director of photography, Pradeep E Ragav as the editor.
