With Vijay winning praise from various members of the film industry and the general public alike, director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who worked with the actor on Master and Leo, is the latest to share his wishes for the actor.
Sharing an unseen photo from the sets of Leo, Lokesh wrote, "Badass entry and a solid win, Vijay na. Wishing you all the very best on your new journey na."
Even as Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam held a lead as votes were being counted, video edits of Vijay's interval reveal from Leo were going viral on social media. While Vijay has said that the yet-to-be-released Jana Nayagan is his last outing, fans are still hoping for him to reunite with Lokesh Kanagaraj in Leo 2.
Their first collaboration together, Master, featured Vijay as a teacher and an alcoholic who was forced to teach at a juvenile correction home, where he clashes with a ruthless gangster who uses children as scapegoats for his crimes. The film was not a part of the director's Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).
Later, they collaborated on Leo, which was a part of the LCU after Kaithi and Vikram. The film features Vijay as Parthiban, who has a peaceful life with his wife and children in Himachal Pradesh until his past involvement in a drug cartel brings trouble to his family.
On the work front, Lokesh Kanagaraj, who last helmed Rajinikanth's Coolie, is currently working on his next, AA23, with Allu Arjun in the lead. He recently wrapped filming for Arun Matheswaran's DC, which marks the acting debut for the actor, starring opposite Wamiqa Gabbi.
On the other hand, Vijay is still awaiting the release of Jana Nayagan, which was recently leaked online a month ago. The film's release is still in limbo, as the Censor Board for Film Certification is yet to provide a censor certificate for the film. With the results scheduled for today, the censor certificate is expected to be provided soon.
Vijay secured 108 seats in the elections, with him winning both Trichy East and Perambur. The politician will now have to choose between the two, with a by-election due for the resigned seat. Meanwhile, Vijay needs 11 more seats to prove a majority and form the government.
