Sundar C on entering politics: ' I now start a new life'

Sundar C is contesting for the Madurai Central constituency in the upcoming Tamil Nadu State Assembly elections

Actor-director Sundar C took to social media to put out a video to talk about his entry into politics. In the same video he also addressed the fake account that had been created under his name.

The reaffirmation of his social media comes after Khusbhu, his wife, flagged a fake account. He also said, "Until now I believe that as a director, producer, and an actor, I have entertained you through my films. I now start a new life, with my entry into politics. I am contesting for the Madurai Central constituency under the two leaves symbol. I hope that all of you, who have supported me through my cinematic journey, will support me through this new one too."

The actor is contesting for the upcoming Tamil Nadu State Assembly Elections, for which polling is scheduled to take place on April 23. Sundar C is contesting under the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) symbol, as part of the party's alliance with Puthiya Neethi Katchi (PNK), which is the party he is contesting through.

On the cinematic front, the director has Mookuthi Amman 2, the sequel to RJ Balaji's 2020 comedy film in the pipeline. Nayanthara is reprising her role as the titular character for the upcoming sequel. Sundar C is also reuniting with Vishal, Tamannaah for Purushan, which is currently filming.
