GV Prakash's film Happy Raj is now out in theatres, and the early reviews have been mixed for it. While some audiences and critics gave negative reviews for the film, others, including director Ravi Arasu, appreciated it.

Taking to social media, the writer-director, who is known for titles such as Eetti and Ayngaran, wrote, "Just now watched Happy Raj. Enjoyed a lot. Very good fun and emotional entertainer." Ravi also gave a shout out to the film's actors GV Prakash, George Maryan, and Abbas. "Darling GV Prakash, George Maryan sir and Abbas sir acting is top notch," he added in his Happy Raj movie review. He also went on to say, "Hats off to the whole team all your efforts have paid well."

Directed by Maria Raja Elanchezian, the movie tells the story of a down-on-his-luck romantic meeting a woman (Sri Gouri Priya) who has the same feelings for him. However, when she tells him that their family members must meet each other, things become complicated between them.

The movie also stars Geetha Kailasam, Madurai Muthu, Adhirchi Arun, and Devi Mahesh, among others. On the technical front, it has composer Justin Prabhakaran, cinematographer Madhan Chirstopher, editor Selva RK, and stunt choreographer Om Siva Prakash.

The film faces stiff competition at the box office. Besides Thaai Kizhavi and Youth, films such as Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Project Hail Mary are running in theatres and have been gaining positive reviews from audiences. Meanwhile, Youth director-actor Ken Karunaas conveyed his best wishes to the team behind the GV Prakash starrer.

Coming back to Ravi Arasu, the filmmaker recently exited the Vishal starrer Magudam, reportedly citing creative differences with the actor. After his exit from the Vishal film, he has announced the development of a new project.
