Dhanush-starrer Kara features Prithvi Pandiarajan as Murugesan

Kara, which stars Dhanush in the lead, is directed by Por Thozhil fame Vignesh Raja with a release date set for April 30

The final character poster from the world of Dhanush's Kara, has been unveiled. Actor Prithvi Pandiarajan is revealed to be playing the role of Murugesan in the film, which is Por Thozhil fame Vignesh Raja's sophomore directorial.

Earlier on Thursday, actor Jayaram was revealed to be playing the role of Muthu Selvan. With Dhanush essaying the titular role of Kara (a) Karasaami, the film features Mamitha Baiju as Selli, with KS Ravikumar as Kandhasaami, Suraj Venjaramoodu as Bharathan, and Karunaas as Kasi Maayan.

While the details of Kara's plot haven't been revealed, a video glimpse released earlier, hinted at the story being a drama that follows Kara on a path of revenge. Reportedly the film will be set in the early 1990s, where a small town is affected by shortage of fuel, due to a war in the Middle East.

GV Prakash Kumar is composing music for the upcoming film, continuing his collaboration with Dhanush after Idli Kadai (2025). Kara is produced by Ishari K Ganesh under his Vels Film International banner, with Kushmitha Ganesh, his daughter, serving as a co-producer.The film is set to release on April 30.
