Actor-composer Vijay Antony's upcoming film Nooru Saami makers dropped the first single from the film titled 'Maaya Kanavo' on Wednesday.

The slow romantic folk number, composed by Balaji Sriram, has vocals by Chinmayi Sripada and Kapil Kapilan, and lyrics by Mohan Rajan.

The film's title is inspired by Pichaikkaran's song 'Nooru Saamigal Irundhaalum'. Fatima Vijay Antony and Vijay Antony, under their Vijay Antony Film Corporation banner, backed the film.

The film, marking Vijay Antony's reunion with Pichaikkaran director Sasi, is expected to revolve around the emotional bond between a mother and her son. Terming it as a "Family Biopic," the makers described the film as "a journey of blood, sweat, and bonds. This is the life they lived."

Nooru Saami has Swasika playing the female lead. The film also stars Lijomol Jose, Karunaas, Ajay Dhishan, Sakthi, and Kavya Anil. The rest of the technical crew comprises cinematographer Darshan Kirlosh and editor Harish Yuvaraj.

Vijay Antony was last seen in Arun Prabu's political thriller Sakthi Thirumagan. Sasi, meanwhile, is making a return seven years after the release of Siddharth-GV Prakash's Sivappu Manjal Pachai (2019). The makers had earlier said the film is slated for a May 1 release. However, the first single lyrical video merely stated the film would have a May release without specifying a date. This hints at a release date change, possibly necessitated by the Tamil Nadu State Assembly election result on May 4.
