At a press meet recently, veteran actor Sivakumar shared his two cents on actors becoming politicians. On social media, many have been sharing the clipping, wondering whether the actor indirectly spoke about Vijay, who is the latest actor to enter politics.

Sivakumar said, "Work hard and don't compare yourself to anyone. Nobody in the world has learnt everything. It was MGR who established that an actor can rule. There will never be another actor or politician like him. He came to power even before Ronald Reagan. But although he had three wives, he had no children. Sivaji Ganesan was a great actor, and there will never be another actor like him. Despite his acting prowess, he failed in politics. Not everybody can shine in all fields."

Vijay announced his political entry in February 2024 by launching his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. Back when he announced the same, he said, the goal of TVK was to contest in the 2026 State General Elections and win it to serve the people of Tamil Nadu. The actor, who has currently not formed an alliance with any political party, is set to compete in all 234 State Assembly constituencies.

On the work front, the actor's Jana Nayagan is in censorship hell, as the film is yet to be certified by the censor board. Recently the CBFC's revising committee rewatched the film to certify it and instead sent it to the Election Commission of India to assess the film's political content, as a model code of conduct is currently enforced in Tamil Nadu.
