Recently, we reported about Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth coming back together onscreen after a long time with a film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Tentatively titled KH x RK, the film brings Rajinikanth back together with his Jailer franchise director Nelson as well.

Recently, Kamal's actor-singer daughter Shruti Haasan talked about the factor that is common between both stars. Speaking about them to Mashable India, Shruti said, "What is common between both of them is that they are so hard working." She also said that, despite the amount of work her father and Rajinikanth put in, they go about their lives without making any fuss about it. She added, "They will give their life for it, quietly. They are not creating tension by saying something like, 'Ohh, I have so much to do.' They are maintaining everything, their families, their offices, their relationships, and working like beasts."

Besides their project with Nelson, Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth are also collaborating on a film with director Cibi Chakravarthi of Don fame. Tentatively titled Thalaivar 173, the film stars Rajinikanth in the lead role, and Kamal is attached to it as a producer, representing his banner Raaj Kamal Films International.

It is worth noting that Rajinikanth made his acting debut opposite Kamal in K Balachander's 1975 film Apoorva Raagangal, also starring Srividya, Sundarrajan, Nagesh, and Jayasudha. Onscreen, Kamal and Rajinikanth last appeared together for director Balachander's 1981 film Thillu Mullu, where the former played a cameo role. Their last full-length collaboration came in 1979's Ninaithale Inikkum, also directed by Balachander.

Coming back to Shruti Haasan, the actor was most recently seen in Coolie, opposite Rajinikanth and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Her upcoming films include Train with director Mysskin and co-actors Vijay Sethupathi and Narain, among others.
