A new Tamil romance drama centred on modern dating culture, Nee Forever, is set to arrive in theatres on March 27. The film is produced by ZHEN Studios and directed by Ashok Kumar Kalaivani.
The story explores the world of the Gen Z generation and revolves around a couple who meet through a dating application. Their relationship and the consequences that follow form the crux of the narrative. Blending romance with humour, the makers say the film has been crafted as a light-hearted love drama aimed at appealing to a wide range of audiences.
The project marks the second production venture for producers Pugazh and Eden under the ZHEN Studios banner, after the success of Tharunam.
Sudharshan Govind, who won the title in the sixth season of Naalaya Iyakkunar, plays the lead role in the film. Opposite him is Archana Ravi, a Kerala-based actor and the winner of the Miss South India 2016 title, who is making her acting debut with this project. The supporting cast includes YG Mahendran, Nizhalgal Ravi, M J Sriram, Rethika Srinivas, Chella, Brinda, Dr Vidya, Pradosh and Sneha Sakthi.
The film has been shot across several locations in Chennai, with the makers choosing around 20 well-known city landmarks to capture different facets of contemporary urban life. Portions of the film were also filmed in Pollachi and nearby areas.
On the technical front, Nee Forever will feature music by Ashwin Hemanth, cinematography by Raja Bhattacharjee and editing by S A Nagarjun. The film will open in theatres alongside GV Prakash's Happy Raj.
