Actor Anishma Anilkumar delivered a much-appreciated performance in director Suresh Rajakumari's recent hit Sirai, co-starring LK Akshay Kumar and Vikram Prabhu. Anishma starred in the film as Akshay Kumar's love interest, Kalaiyarasi. The performance has grabbed the attention of many in the film industry, including Dhanush.

Speaking at the recent pre-release event of actor-director Ken Karunaas' Youth, Dhanush praised Anishma's performance in Sirai. While Dhanush recognised Anishma as the actor from Sirai, he had a hard time remembering her name, and the audience could know that he was referring to her only because some in the crowd yelled out her name to him. Thanking the audience for the same, Dhanush told Anishma, "I am a big fan of your smile. You have such a beautiful, innocent, overwhelming smile, and that smile added so much for your previous film, Sirai. God bless you, great job in Sirai, by the way."

Outside of Sirai, Anishma is known for her role in I Am Kathalan, co-starring Naslen and Lijomol Jose. She made her debut with 2023's Poovan, opposite Antony Varghese and Sajin Cherukayil, among others.

In our Sirai movie review, Avinash Ramachandran made a note of Anishma's performance in the film, which marked her debut in Tamil cinema. In an exclusive conversation with CE, Sirai director Suresh Rajakumari told us that they cast Anishma in the film before I Am Kathalan's release.

Following Sirai, Anishma Anilkumar starred in the JioHotstar series Secret Stories: Roslin. Looking ahead, she is set to continue her journey in Tamil cinema with a role in Ken's Youth. The film is set to release in theatres on March 19, Friday.
