Music composer Santhosh Narayanan responded to a social media user, who mentioned that along with his daughter, Dhee who is a singer, Santhosh had stolen the song, 'Enjoy Enjaami', from Arivu. The independent single was released in March 2021, under the maajja label.
When a user on X wrote, "Dhee and her dad literally went ahead and stole this song from Arivu anna," Santhosh replied, "Konjam rest edunga thambi (Take a breather, brother). Some useful info already available everywhere if you only look for it. This song idea was conceived by Dhee and also has some of her tunes in it."
He added, "The core storyline and concept of the song was done by director Manikandan who was working on Kadaisi Vivasayi with me at the time. I composed, produced and created all the melodies in the song. Arivu wrote almost all the words and also performed. Some traditional Oppari lines were also adapted by Arivu. I only suggested the word Enjaami like I always suggest for most of my songs like 'Rakitaa', 'Kanimaa' etc. Thankfully we live in a digital domain and every claim can and should be proven."
As per Spotify, Santhosh and Arivu have been credited as lyricists and composers, with Santhosh also being credited as producer and arranger, Dhee and Arivu as singers.
Arivu who was a recurring collaborator of Santhosh had also worked on 'Neeye Oli', as a lyricist, which featured Canadian Tamil rappers, Shan Vincent De Paul and Navz-47. When Rolling Stone India featured Shan Vincent De Paul and Dhee on the cover of their magazine in 2021, director Pa Ranjith and Arivu spoke out against the exclusion, after which Arivu was featured in the cover.
Further, during the 2022 Chess Olympiad, which was conducted in Chennai, Santhosh performed 'Enjoy Enjaami' along with Kidakuzhi Mariyammal. As Arivu's name was not mentioned, he spoke out against this and issued a statement against the origins of the song. Santhosh also put out a statement, replying to Arivu's statement on the origins of the song, mentioning that the original idea was from Dhee.
In 2024, on the third anniversary since the song's release, Santhosh Narayanan put out a video where he mentioned that he hasn't been receiving any royalties for the song from the music label, majja. To which, the label replied that the artists did not reach a consensus on their contributions to the song, and while they received advances, the resolution process was further complicated.
