Karunaas quips about working on Kara: 'If Dhanush gets an award for this...'

Karunaas was speaking at the pre-release event of Youth, which is written, directed, and headlined by his son Ken, about reuniting with Dhanush in Kara

At the pre-release event of Youth, actor Karunaas spoke about reuniting with Dhanush on the upcoming film, Kara. Opening in theatres on March 19, Youth is written, directed and headlined by Karunaas' son, Ken.

"Amongst the films that I have worked on, Dhanush was the lead for most of them. But it has been 16 years since I did a film with him. I am reuniting with him for Kara," said the actor, who amongst other things worked with Dhanush on Vetri Maaran's debut directorial, Polladhavan (2007).

Karunaas also quipped, "If Dhanush gets an award for this (Kara), I should also get one, else I will get annoyed with them. The central government shouldn't refrain from giving me an award just because I criticise the BJP."

The cast of Kara also includes Mamitha Baiju, KS Ravikumar, Jayaram, Prithvi Pandiarajan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, MS Bhaskar, and Sreeja Ravi, among others.

GV Prakash Kumar, who has worked on Youth, is composing music for Kara.
