At the Vowels press meet on Tuesday, actor Chinni Jayanth opened up about the film and made a request to the makers of the film while also praising his co-star, Yugi Sethu.

Chinni Jayanth described the makers in his own unique vocabulary. "When this group approached me with the story, they seemed very desperate for an opportunity. I felt empathetic, as they were first-time filmmakers without a big budget. But it turned out they were a 'Gilfansi' group with a good production budget and had given us a wonderful output," he explained, adding, "But what I loved the most about this film is the unity shared by the five filmmakers."

The veteran actor then placed a request to the film's makers, saying, "I request the producer to make five more parts of Vowels. This first film explores the theme of love. I hope the filmmakers take different themes and at least make four more parts. Also, I request the filmmakers to cast the same actors in the sequel as well. It is okay if Yugi Sethu and I are left out. But the other young cast members, who have come to cinema with hopes through this film, must be recast."

Speaking with high regard about his co-star Yugi Sethu, Chinni Jayanth further said, "My dear friend Yugi Sethu is a highly intellectual person. I have participated in his Vijay TV interviews. He has even made a film now, which I am confident will be a hit. More than me, it is a big plus that Yugi Sethu acted in this film."

Lastly, the actor had specific advice for budding actors. "To all the young actors and technicians, let me tell you one thing. Back in the 80s, it was not that easy to get a film opportunity. But once you get a chance, you can continue for life. Today, it is easier to get the opportunity to act in a film, but not so easy to have a long career in the industry," he concluded.

Dhilip Kumar, Hemanth Kumar, Sangeeth, Santhosh Ravi, and Jagan Rajendran have helmed the five films in the Vowels anthology, which has a tagline that reads, "An Atlas of Love". The film also stars Raj Ayyappa, Samyuktha Vishwanathan, Nandu, Deepak Paramesh, Kajal Choudhary, Peter K, Sharath Ravi, Akshitha Bopaiah, Priyanka Chandrashekar, Bharath Bopanna, and Vijetha Vashitha, among others.

Backed by Raju Sheregar of the Riddhi Siddhi Films banner, Vowels will have cinematography by Keerthan Poojaary and Sandeep Aluri, editing by Harish Komme and music by Sarvanaa Subramaniam. One of the directors, Dhilip and Yugi Sethu, have penned the dialogues for the film.

Vowels is gearing up to open in theatres on March 13.
