Four years after its release, the 2022 film Aadhaar, directed by Ramnath Palanikumar, will get an OTT release as the makers announced on Sunday that it will release on Prime Video soon. However, the premiere date has not been unveiled yet.

Aadhaar marked the reunion of Karunaas and Ramnath Palanikumar after Ambasamudram Ambani (2010), which starred the former in the lead, and Thirunaal (2016), headlined by Jiiva and Nayanthara. The film also starred Arun Pandian, Prabhakar, Riythika, Ineya, Uma Riyaz Khan and Dileepan.

Aadhaar follows Pachamuthu (Karunaas), a migrant labourer, who takes on a journey to find his missing wife. The film received mixed to positive reviews upon release for its message and non-linear narrative style. An excerpt from the Cinema Express review reads, “Though it's not the first film that talks about the injustices served to the underprivileged, Aadhaar is a compelling watch that achieves what it intends to without much force-feeding--if you forgive the not-so-great craft.”

The film's technical crew comprises cinematographer Mahesh Muthuswami, music composer Srikanth Deva, editor R Ramar, art director V Seenu and stunt choreographer Super Subbarayan.
