Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi are awaiting the release of Gatta Kusthi 2, a sequel to their 2022 film. The Gatta Kusthi sequel is set for a July 03 release in theatres. Ahead of its release, the makers of the film have completed the censorship formalities for it. The Censor Board has granted a 'U' certificate for the film.

Vishnu Vishal announced the news with a special poster through social media. "All of 'U' are welcome. Gatta Kusthi 2 - 3 days to July 3!"

The film brings Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi back together with director Chella Ayyavu. In a recent conversation with CE, Vishnu said that the film tells story from the point of view of his character. This is different from the first part, which tells the story of a wrestler (Aishwarya Lekshmi) dealing with a chauvinist husband (Vishnu Vishal). The husband character undergoes a transformation over the course of the story, and the second part builds on his dynamic with his wrestler spouse.

Gatta Kusthi 2 also stars Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Karunaas, Muniskanth, Kaali Venkat, Karunakaran, Zara, and Mokksha, among others. Besides acting in the film, Vishnu Vishal also produces it through his eponymous banner alongside Dr Ishari K Ganesh of Vels Film International.

On the technical front, the film has composer Sean Roldan, cinematographer KM Bhaskaran, editor Barath Vikraman, and art director Jayachandran.

The sequel to Gatta Kusthi comes after a string of flops for Vishnu Vishal, including Lal Salaam and Aaryan, which means there is a lot riding on it for him. Oho Enthan Baby, which starred Vishnu in a cameo alongside lead actors Rudra and Mithila Palkar, also did not fare well at the box office.
