Earlier this year, we announced that Kavin was joining hands with director Ram Sangaiah for his next. The film also began pre-production work back in January. On Friday, the film's pooja ceremony took place in Chennai. While the makers are yet to announce the title, stills from the pooja ceremony show the title poster revealing Per Sollum Pillai as the title.

Ram Sangaiah has previously helmed Thandatti, starring Rohini and Ammu Abhirami. Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, known for her performances in Lubber Pandhu and Thug Life, is playing the female lead in the film. Bala Saravanan is also a part of Per Sollum Pillai's cast. V Creations producer Kalaipuli S Thanu is seen clapping the board at the pooja ceremony.

Per Sollum Pillai is backed by S Lakshman Kumar and Venkatesh of Prince Pictures. More details about the film's extended cast, crew, plot, and genre are yet to be revealed by the makers. Interestingly, the film takes its title from Kamal Haasan's 1987 film of the same name helmed by SP Muthuraman.

On the work front, Kavin was last seen in Vikarnan Ashok's Mask, starring alongside Andrea Jeremiah. In the pipeline, he has Hi, directed by Vishnu Edavan, in which he stars alongside Nayanthara. The film was earlier slated for an April release but has yet to fix a release date. He also has a film with Priyanka Mohan and Sandy, directed by debutant Ken Royson and tentatively titled Kavin 09. He recently joined hands with another debut filmmaker. Praveen Paramasivam, for a family drama with the working title Kavin 11.

Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, on the other hand, was last seen in Pandiraaj's Parimala and Co. She is currently awaiting the release of DC, the Arun Matheswaran directorial, also starring Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi, which is scheduled for July 31.
