Actor-producer Vishnuu Vishal, who is currently on a promotional spree for his upcoming film Gatta Kusthi 2, recently addressed the criticisms on him and hit back at them for their comments.
In a recent interview with RedNool, Vishnuu Vishal responded to a viral X post which said, "Of late, Vishnu Vishal comes for movie promotions, cries in every interview, claims he is unrecognised and praises his movies. Then, the movie releases and gets bashed by everyone." Hitting back at the comment, the actor asked, "How many of my recent movies have been bashed?"
"Recently only two films of mine have been released. One is Lal Salaam and the other is Aaryan. As if my last ten movies have been bashed. The previous two were FIR and Gatta Kusthi 1. With Lal Salaam, things were not in my hand. I tried to put forth my story. I didn't sign for what came on screen. I don't want to get into those details. It was bashed," he shared, explaining what went behind Aaryan and the responses that followed.
"For Aaryan, I own up to what people didn't like. But it was only the climax that didn't work for many people. If you look closely, many liked the story, but it is only the climax that they didn't like. It's okay. I am experimenting and trying out of the box. I am not saying that Aaryan was an out-of-the-world script and it was only the audiences who didn't like it. My mistake was that I made it in a way people didn't understand," he elaborated.
He later took the example of his brother Rudhra's debut film Oho Enthan Baby in which he served as a producer and asked how that movie can be added in his filmography. "How can people link that film to my career. There was a young team behind it and I believe in them. I am 41 years old and I am yet to know the pulse of the younger audiences fully. I am learning. Should I explain myself so much for one post?," he asked, underscoring the need for him to do so at a time when even stars like Rajinikanth are being scrutinised. "We are in that era where even Rajini sir has to say, 'I have nothing against Vijay' when he stays silent on social media for four days. Otherwise, he is also criticised. It's so painful to see this," he noted.
As reported earlier, his upcoming film Gatta Kusthi 2 will also see the return Aishwarya Lekshmi as Keerthi. Kaali Venkat, Karunaas and Munishkanth are reprising their roles along with Lizie Antony, Gajaraj and Sreeja Ravi. Ramya Krishnan and Yogi Babu are the newcomers to the sequel. Karunakaran, Mokksha and child actor Zara Zyanna are also part of the film.
Gatta Kusthi 2 is scheduled to release in theatres on July 3.
