Ilaiyaraaja is celebrating his Golden Jubilee year in cinema with a concert tour across North America and Europe. Earlier this Wednesday, he took to social media to announce that he has set off on his Europe concert tour with son Yuvan Shankar Raja. The legendary composer shared a picture on X from the Chennai airport lounge, marking the start of their tour.

Ilaiyaraaja is set to headline the tour, celebrating his 50-year-long journey in cinema, with concerts reportedly being scheduled to take place in London, Ireland, Australia, North America, Germany, France, and Switzerland. Earlier this year, the legendary composer held concerts in places such as Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad as part of his Golden Jubilee celebrations.

Ilaiyaraaja is going to start his Europe concert tour with a live event in Dublin, Ireland, on June 26, Friday. Then, he will head to London for another real-time event set to take place at OVO Arena Wembley on July 11, Saturday.

In the USA, the maestro composer is set to perform in places such as Boston, New Jersey, Chicago, Washington DC, Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Seattle, San Jose, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. He is expected to tour North America in August this year. Here are the specific dates for his USA concerts:

Ilaiyaraaja's concert schedule in the USA

Following the American leg, he is scheduled to perform in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane on September 19, September 26, and October 05, respectively.

According to reports, Yuvan is set to make special appearances in Ilaiyaraaja concerts in Europe, as well as headlining his own solo concerts as part of the U1niverse program.

Fondly known as 'Isaignani' (Musical Genius), the legendary composer recently made history last year by becoming the first film composer from Asia to perform Western classical symphony in London. Titled 'Valiant,' it was rendered in a highly acclaimed historic performance at London's Eventim Apollo.
