Earlier this Sunday, the makers of Idhayam Murali, Dawn Pictures of Aakash Baskaran, announced that Fahadh Faasil has dubbed his portions in the film. Directed by Aakash Baskaran himself from his own screenplay, the film also stars Atharvaa, Kayadu Lohar, Preity Mukhundhan, and Niharika NM.

Dawn Pictures and Aakash are yet to reveal the specific details of Fahadh's character in the film. It is expected to be a brief role, given the actor's packed schedule. Fahadh Faasil has films such as Don’t Trouble The Trouble, an Aavesham sequel, Karate Chandran, a project with '96 and Meiyazhagan filmmaker C Prem Kumar, and two films with Panorama Studios at various phases of production.

Recently, Dawn Pictures announced Fahadh's involvement in Idhayam Murali. Calling it a "proud moment" to have Fahadh Faasil onboard, director-producer Aakash Baskaran said that he wished to cast Fahadh ever since he wrote it and expressed his gratitude to the actor.

The film tells a multi-generational love story, with the plot exploring themes of one-side love, similar to Atharvaa's father Murali's film Idhayam (1991). In a recent title announcement video, Atharvaa's character says, "The best lover in the world is not Romeo, Majnu, Ambikapathy, or even Titanic Jack. It's the one and only Idhayam Murali!"

The cast also includes Dravid Selvam and Sudhakar Jayaraman of Parithabangal fame, Natty, composer Thaman S himself, Anju Kurian, Rakshan, Yashashree Rao, singer Jonita Gandhi, and Angelin B. While Natty plays Idhaya's (Atharvaa) uncle, Kayadu Lohar portrays the titular character's love interest.

The film's technical team includes composer Thaman S, cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa, editor Pradeep E Ragav, production designer Karthik Rajkumar, and costume designers Pallavi Singh and Meenakshi N.

Recently, the makers of the film dropped a song, titled 'Vaama Vaama,' with vocals by Dhanush. The film is slated for a July 10 release in theatres worldwide.
