Earlier this Friday, the makers of Vishwanath and Sons dropped the first single from the film, directed by Venky Atluri and starring Suriya and Mamitha Baiju. Titled 'Pattampoochi,' it is a melodious and soulful track that serves as a love anthem for the couple played by Suriya and Mamitha in the Tamil-Telugu film. 'Pattampoochi' is sung by Sublahshini with lyrics by Arunraja Kamaraj and based on a composition by GV Prakash. The chorus singers comprise Aavani Malhar, Jerina Anna, Kaanjana Sreeram, and Aruna Mary George. In Telugu, the song is titled 'Neno Butterfly,' with lyrics by Ramajogaiah Sastry.
As reported earlier, Vishwanath and Sons tells a story of romance between a middle aged man and a woman, who is half old as him. The makers describe it as "A heartfelt journey of dreams, emotions, and unexpected love." Suriya's character in the film, namely Sanjay Vishwanath, is inspired by the actor's own businessperson from Ghajini. There are moments in the Vishwanath and Sons first single that are reminiscent of his character, Sanjay Ramasamy, in Ghajini.
Besides Suriya and Mamitha Biju, the film also stars Radikaa Sarathkumar, Raveena Tandon, Nasser, Sudha, Raghu Babu, Sunil Reddy, Bhavani Sri, Viva Harsha, Kaali Venkat, George Maryan, Hyper Aadhi, Srija Ravi, Sarvadaman Banerjee, Mathew Varghese, Kalyani Natarajan, Karate Karthik, and Master Charvik.
The film is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, respectively. It is presented by Srikara Studios.
Apart from GV Prakash, its technical team includes cinematographer Nimish Ravi, editor Navin Nooli, and production designer Banglan.
Vishwanath and Sons is slated for an August 14 release in theatres worldwide. Suriya's upcoming films also include a project with Aavesham filmmaker Jithu Madhavan, co-starring Nazriya Nazim and Naslen. Meanwhile, Mamitha Baiju's upcoming films include Jana Nayagan with Vijay, Irandu Vaanam with Vishnu Vishal, and Bethlehem Kudumba Unit with Nivin Pauly.
