Jayaram and Urvashi's latest film Parimala and Co, directed by Pandiraaj is off to a promising start at the box office, thanks to the anticipation built around the film, its characters and storyline. On day 1, the black comedy thriller film earned Rs 1.6 crore across India (nett) and Rs 1.84 crore (gross).

The film follows the titular family caught in the mess after the reports of a gangster's death under mysterious circumstances. Following this, the family members suspect each other of committing it. Parimala and Co marks the reunion of Jayaram and Urvashi after Panchathanthiram (2002).

Upon release, the film has been garnering mixed reactions from audiences and critics. An excerpt from our CE review of the film read, "We have seen the Drishyams, the Koodi Vaazhndhaal Kodi Nanmais, the Kolamaavu Kokilas, the Doctors, and even last week’s release, Blast. Families finding themselves painted into a corner, and doing everything possible to get out of it, is a time-tested template, and yet… director Pandiraaj’s latest, Parimala and Co, does the one thing you shouldn’t do when it comes to making a whodunnit family drama. He makes things… boring."

Other members of the cast include Mysskin, Yogi Babu, Sandy, Santosh and Sobhan who are playing key roles.

The film's technical team comprises cinematographer George C Williams, music composer Foxn, editor Pradeep E Ragav, and stunt choreographer Kalai Kingson.
