Producer Archana Kalpathi of AGS Entertainment has been having a successful two years with the films she had backed garnering critical and commercial success at the box office, the latest film being Blast, headlined by Arjun, Abhirami and Preity Mukhundhan. In a recent interview with Galatta, she spoke about her personal dynamics with Trisha, discussing their long-standing friendship.
"She (Trisha) is my only friend outside the industry. We are from the same batch and hence the association has been going on for many years. We have a common group of friends which include batchmates from school and college. That's why we haven't worked together," Archana shared, calling Trisha her "most favourite person."
When probed about the controversies surrounding Trisha and what she feels about them, Archana said, "We are a fun group and we have our own world. We are focussed and working towards our goals in life." She further highlighted Trisha's dedication, describing her as the most hardworking person. "She's been in the industry longer than me and has given the biggest blockbusters. She is very hardworking. Look at Karuppu. If you look at the top grossing films every year, she will be there in it. In this industry, only hard work, combined with ethics and dedication can get you to the top places," she added.
For the unversed, Trisha has been in the heart of several controversies along with debates and discussions on social media surrounding her appearances alongside the now-CM Vijay, who was also her co-star on popular films like Ghilli, Leo and GOAT. Rumours have been aplenty about their alleged relationship in the wake of Vijay's wife Sankgeetha filing for divorce. However, the duo have refrained from commenting about it.
While Archana has not worked directly with Trisha, the latter made a cameo appearance in the song 'Matta' from Vijay-Venkat Prabhu's The Greatest of All Time (2024) in which Archana served as the creative producer.
