It has been four years since the release of Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan in the lead role. On the special occasion, Rathna Kumar shared a throwback note, quote-tweeting a post from its director Lokesh Kanagaraj a day before the film's 2022 release. In the post, Lokesh asked the audience to watch his previous film Kaithi before going for Vikram. It is worth noting that Lokesh directed the film from a screenplay he wrote with Rathna Kumar.

"Please do revisit Kaithi before getting into the world of Vikram," the screenwriter wrote, referring to Lokesh's note. "One Tweet & THE REST IS HISTORY," he wrote. Also starring Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil, among others, Vikram is connected to Kaithi through Narain's Inspector Bejoy character.

Rathna Kumar also expressed his gratitude to Lokesh for making him part of the film. "It always feels proud to be part of this. Thank you Lokesh for this Life time settlement," he added.

The writer also expressed his excitement for the filmmaker's directorial debut in Telugu, tentatively titled AA23 and starring Allu Arjun.

Kamal himself produced the film under his banner Raaj Kamal Films International. It marked the second instalment in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, the first one being Kaithi. The Vijay-Lokesh film Leo is also part of the universe.

The fourth anniversary of Vikram comes at a time when Lokesh Kanagaraj is facing much trolling for his cameo in Kattalan. Many of his detractors mocked his post-credit cameo in the Malayalam film, sarcastically alluding to him as the creator of the universe.

Meanwhile, there is much anticipation for Lokesh's upcoming film as a lead hero, titled DC, directed by Captain Miller fame Arun Matheswaran and co-starring Wamiqa Gabbi.
