The makers of the Karthi-starrer Sardar 2 have released a teaser for the upcoming film. The action thriller, which is directed by PS Mithran, is set to release on September 10.

A sequel to the 2022 film, Sardar, the upcoming film has a story by Rathna Kumar, Ashameera Aiyappan, Vignesh Muniyandi, with Nambi writing the screenplay. The first film is a spy thriller that revolves around an agent trying to thwart an evil group that seeks to destroy India's water supply. The upcoming film shows SJ Suryah as the head of a criminal organisation facing off against Karthi.

The cast of Sardar 2 includes Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, Yogi Babu, and Rajisha Vijayan, among others.

Sam CS has composed music for the film, which features lyrics by Nambi, Lavita Lobo, Imbachi, and Zeba Tommy. The crew of Sardar 2 also includes director of photography George C Williams, editor Vijay Velukutty, art directors MSP Madhavan and B Sekar, stunt choreographers Dhilip Subbarayan and Chethan D'souza.

S Lakshman Kumar and Ishan Saksena are producing the film, with A. Venkatesh serving as a co-producer. Prince Pictures and Ivy Entertainment are the banners backing the film.
