Vijay might have quit cinema for a full-time career in politics, but the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's son Jason Sanjay recently expressed his desire to see his father in a Hollywood film. In a recent interview with Behindwoods TV, Jason Sanjay was asked which actor from India he would take to star with Jason Statham in a Hollywood film. Pop came the reply, "It would be my father only."

Jason Sanjay said that Vijay and Jason Statham would prove "a good combination" in a film. "I hope he watches this interview," Sanjay said, referring to Statham.

Speaking of which, longtime Vijay fans and film buffs might be able to remember the superstar's action sequence in Ghilli that is similar to an action sequence from Statham in the 2002 film The Transporter.

In the sequence, Vijay's character kicks an oil container to make the floor slippery, causing it virtually impossible for the goons attacking him to grab a hold of him. Soon, Vijay wears bicycle pedals to make his way through the oily floor and attack the goons, even as they slip and fall. The sequence is inspired by an action scene from The Transporter, where Jason Statham's protagonist wears pedals to fight goons on an oily, slippery floor.

Coming back to Jason Sanjay, he makes his debut as a director with the film Sigma, starring Sundeep Kishan in the lead role. The film has been postponed from its July 31 release to a hitherto-unannounced date, reportedly expected to be in August. According to reports, the reason for the postponement is the release of Vijay's final film, Jana Nayagan. Several films postponed due to Jana Nayagan's release, including Sigma.
