As promised, the makers of the Tamil-Telugu film Vishwanath and Sons shared the promo for its second single earlier this Thursday, coinciding with Suriya's birthday. Titled 'The Wedding Song,' it is sung by Suriya himself based on GV Prakash's composition and the lyrics by Ramajogaiah Sastry. The song video features Suriya and Mamitha Baiju dancing to the energetic beats at a wedding. As reported recently, the full song is set to release on July 25, Saturday.
Written and directed by Venky Atluri of Lucky Baskhar fame, Vishwanath and Sons tells a love story between a middle-aged man (Suriya) and a woman (Mamitha) who is about half old as him. Suriya plays Sanjay Vishwanath in the film, who is named after his Ghajini character Sanjay Ramasamy. Billed as the "biggest family entertainer of the year," the film is described as "a heartfelt journey of dreams, emotions, and unexpected love."
The upcoming film also stars Radikaa Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon in important roles. It brings Raveena Tandon back to Tamil cinema after 2001's Aalavandhan and to Telugu cinema after 2014's Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda.
The cast also includes Nasser, Sudha, Raghu Babu, Sunil Reddy, Bhavani Sri, Viva Harsha, Kaali Venkat, George Maryan, Hyper Aadhi, Srija Ravi, Sarvadaman Banerjee, Mathew Varghese, Kalyani Natarajan, Karate Karthik, and Master Charvik.
Vishwanath and Sons brings Suriya back together with music director GV Prakash after 2020's Soorarai Pottru. The technical team of the film also includes cinematographer Nimish Ravi, editor Navin Nooli, production designer Banglan.
The film is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, and it is presented by Srikara Studios. The makers of the film recently released a melodious song titled, 'Pattampoochi'. The film is set for an August 14 release in theatres.
