Actor Pooja Hegde shared two behind-the-scenes stills from her film Jana Nayagan, co-starring Vijay, earlier this Thursday, the day of its release. Pooja and Vijay play lovers in the film, directed by H Vinoth. In one of the stills Pooja shared on Instagram, her character can be seen comforting Vijay's hero.

"Release day is here and for ONE LAST TIME, one last dance... your Halamithi and Habibo.. Kayal and Vetri." It is worth noting that Jana Nayagan marks the end of Vijay's acting career, so many use the 'Last Dance' reference first coined by the Chicago Bulls' coach Phil Jackson for Michael Jordan.

Further, "Halamithi and Habibo" is a reference to the 'Arabic Kuthu' song in 2022's Beast, starring the two actors. Meanwhile, Kayal and Vetri are their characters in Jana Nayagan.

It is worth noting that 'Arabic Kuthu' is the second highest-viewed song in Tamil cinema on YouTube, a list topped by 'Rowdy Baby' from Maari 2 that features Dhanush and Sai Pallavi.

Recently, Pooja Hegde shared a video from the sets of Jana Nayagan where she playfully suggested that Vijay would become the Chief Minister of the film. The video went viral when her manifestation became true after the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Elections. In one of the two stills she shared earlier this Thursday, her character and Vijay's hero wear the same outfits as in the viral video.

Backed by Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions, Jana Nayagan also stars Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, and Narain, among others.

The film has already opened to packed theatres, although critical takes have mostly been mixed to negative about it. Despite the negative reviews, trade analysts expect it to break most of the records in Tamil cinema, because of it being Vijay's swan song.
