With exactly one week left for the premiere of Heart Beat season 3, actor Yogalakshmi, who plays Theju in the series, has announced that she is no longer a part of the show. This move has been speculated about for a while now, as none of the promotional material for the series had mentioned her name.
Sharing a behind-the-scenes video from Heart Beat, Yogalakshmi penned a long note on her departure from the series. I’m truly sorry, guys. With a heavy heart, I have to tell you that I’m no longer a part of the Heart Beat series. This wasn’t easy for me either, but I will always be grateful for the opportunity." She then expressed her gratitude to the directorial team, makers and her co-stars.
The actor then became emotional about her audience as she said, "And to each and every one of you… thank you for showering me with so much love, support, and kindness throughout this journey. 🥹 Your messages, your edits, your cheers, and your unconditional love will always stay close to my heart. It means more than words can ever express."
On why Theju will always remain special to her, she added, "One special thing about Theju is that she inspired so many women and earned so much love and respect. I’m incredibly grateful to have been chosen to bring her to life. Thank you, Theju, for becoming such a special part of my journey. I’ll definitely miss being Theju."
She concluded her note with a promise to fans. "I know many of you will be disappointed, and I’m truly sorry. But this isn’t goodbye. {I promise to keep entertaining you through every medium with all my heart until my very last breath.} Promise, guys! Thank you for standing by me through every chapter. I hope you’ll continue to walk along with me in every journey."
Without Theju, it looks like season 3 will also not have RG Ram's Naveen. Guna, played by actor Sarvhaa, and new cast members including Abdool Lee, Akshathaa Ajit, and Shivaraman N, who played Kamalakannan, Nilofer, and Kiran, also seem to be missing from Season 3. However, only the premiere will confirm these speculations.
On the work front, Yogalakshmi is currently busy filming for Vetri Maaran's Arasan alongside Silambarasan. She is also a part of the upcoming film headlined by Abishan Jeevinth and Shivarajkumar, directed by Gowtham Sivaraman.
