There has been a rumour doing the rounds over the last few days that Suriya has lent his voice to a song in his Tamil-Telugu film Vishwanath and Sons. Recently, the film's composer GV Prakash confirmed the speculation through social media. Earlier this Thursday, the music director revealed that the song will be released on July 23, coinciding with Suriya's birthday.
The announcement from GV Prakash has sparked much excitement from Suriya's fans on social media. This is not the first time a film's soundtrack features the actor's vocals. There are multiple tracks featuring his voice, most notably 'Ek Do Teen' from 2014's Anjaan. It is also worth noting that the song from Party, titled 'Cha Cha Charey,' features the vocals of Suriya and his brother Karthi. Suriya's other soundtrack credits include the theme music for Soorarai Pottru and its Telugu version Aakaasam Nee Haddhu Ra, as well as 'Love Detox' from last year's Retro.
Coming back to Vishwanath and Sons, the film from Lucky Baskhar director Venky Atluri tells the story of a romantic relationship between a middle-aged man (Suriya) and his young lover (Mamitha Baiju). The upcoming film also stars Radikaa Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon in important roles. The film brings Raveena Tandon back to Tamil cinema for the first time after 2001's Aalavandhan, starring Kamal Haasan, as well as to Telugu cinema after 2014's Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda. The south Indian audience is also familiar with her for her performance as the Prime Minister of India in Prashanth Neel's KGF: Chapter 2, opposite Yash.
Vishwanath and Sons is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, respectively, and presented by Srikara Studios. Its technical team also includes cinematographer Nimish Ravi, editor Navin Nooli, and production designer Banglan.
The film is expected to release on August 14, Friday.
