Actor Vishnuu Vishal took to social media to reveal the praise that was offered by Rajinikanth for his performance in Gatta Kusthi 2. The film which was also produced by Vishnuu, also featured Aishwarya Lekshmi and child actor Zara.

Taking to his X handle, Vishnuu revealed that Rajinikanth had said, "Semma padam. Romba jolly aana entertainer.. Indha madhri padam ippo ellam varadhe illa.. Romba nalla perform panirkeenga. (It was a really great film. A jolly entertainer. Films like these are rare these days. You have performed very well. Aishwarya Lekshmi has also performed well. How did you find little Zara? She was just brilliant. You have a great script sense, Vishnu. Do more good films)."

Continuing the story of Veera (Vishnuu Vishal) and Keerthi (Aishwarya Lekshmi) from 2023's Gatta Kusthi, the sports drama follows the lives of Veera and Keerthi as they navigate a life where their roles are gender-swapped, while facing conservative societal expectations.

CE's review of the film reads, "The writing smarts are also evident in how the film narrates the events of the first installment for those who might not have seen Gatta Kusthi. It is a neat trick and shows how Chella has a firm grip on the narrative direction. There is also oodles of humour that work extremely well, and there are a few template scenes that are structured to elicit loud laughs.
