Atharvaa's Idhayam Murali witnessed the customary weekday slowdown on its first Monday but continued its steady theatrical run, crossing the Rs 16 crore mark at the worldwide box office.

According to the latest trade figures on Sacnilk, the romantic drama collected Rs 1.50 crore net in India on Day 4 (Monday) across 1,382 shows, with an overall occupancy of 24 per cent. The film's cumulative India net collection now stands at Rs 10.70 crore, while its India gross has reached Rs 12.31 crore. The film has also begun its overseas run, collecting Rs 4 crore gross internationally, taking its worldwide gross collection to Rs 16.31 crore after four days in theatres.

After opening with Rs 1.90 crore net on Friday, Idhayam Murali witnessed strong weekend growth, earning Rs 3.50 crore on Saturday and Rs 3.80 crore on Sunday, aided by increasing occupancy and positive word of mouth. As expected, collections dipped by around 60 per cent on Monday to Rs 1.50 crore, a trend typically seen after the opening weekend.

Tamil Nadu remains the film's biggest contributor, accounting for Rs 10.65 crore of the total India gross. Karnataka has emerged as the second-strongest market with Rs 1.10 crore, followed by Kerala with Rs 0.29 crore. The film has also collected Rs 0.22 crore from the rest of India and Rs 0.05 crore from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Despite the weekday decline, Idhayam Murali has managed to cross the Rs 10 crore net mark in India within four days, an encouraging sign for Atharvaa after the underwhelming theatrical performance of his recent solo releases. The film will now look to maintain a steady hold through the weekdays before capitalising on its second weekend.

Idhayam Murali also stars Preity Mukhundhan, Kayadu Lohar, Natty, composer Thaman S, Niharika NM, Sudhakar of Parithabangal fame, Yashashree Rao, singer Jonita Gandhi, and Anju Kurian, among others. The film has music composed by Thaman, cinematography handled by Manoj Paramahamsa and CH Sai and editing by Pradeep E Ragav.
