Atharvaa's Idhayam Murali is continuing to climb up the ladder in terms of adding more box office numbers. Thanks to the positive word-of-mouth reviews, the romantic drama's day 3 collections have surpassed its second day numbers and its overall collections is now close to Rs 10 crore, an impressive feat for the film and its actors.

According to Sacnilk, Idhayam Murali earned Rs 3.50 crore on day 3 across 1,523 shows, a 11.1 per cent growth from the second day's net collection of Rs 3.15 crore. This brings total India gross collections to Rs 9.83 crore and total India net collections to Rs 8.55 crore so far.

Chennai has emerged as the frontrunner in terms of contributions to the box office with 346 shows registering top occupancies during afternoon and evening shows at 72 and 80 per cent respectively. But the film's real test comes on the first Monday when it will be proved if the film stood strong without a significant drop in revenue.

An excerpt from our CE review of the film read, "If Idhayam (1991) was all about showing the pathos of an anxious yearner who crumbles under the weight of his own unsaid love, Idhayam Murali is a rose-tinted fantasy, in which, all the world conspires to give a yearner as many chances as possible until he finally gets it. Idhayam Murali isn’t perfect, but aren’t fairytale love stories more about the “happily ever after” (the warm fuzzy feeling they leave you with) than the messy dragon-infested road (the storytelling leaps) they took to get there?"

Idhayam Murali also stars Preity Mukhundhan, Kayadu Lohar, Natty, composer Thaman S, Niharika NM, Sudhakar of Parithabangal fame, Yashashree Rao, singer Jonita Gandhi, and Anju Kurian, among others.

The film has music composed by Thaman, cinematography handled by Manoj Paramahamsa and CH Sai and editing by Pradeep E Ragav.
