Hakkim Shah on Jailer 2: It is as big as ten Malayalam films put together

Here is what actor Hakkim Shah said about Jailer 2 and its scale

Actor Hakkim Shah is familiar to the Tamil audience thanks to his performance as the antagonist in 2021's Kadaseela Biriyani, directed by Nishanth Kalidindi. The actor is coming back to Tamil cinema once again after 2024's Sorgavaasal for a role in Jailer 2, starring Rajinikanth in the lead role and directed by Nelson.

Hakkim Shah recently spoke to the media about the film and his experience working in it. The actor said that it is way too early to speak about the Jailer sequel, playfully suggesting that he might even lose his job if he reveals anything major about it. Shying away from disclosing much about the film, including whether he has combination scenes with Rajinikanth, the actor said that he would open up about it once the film hits theatres.

However, Hakkim shared his excitement for the project and offered a glimpse into its scale. "What can I say? I am part of such a brahmanda film, a massive project. I think it is as big as ten Malayalam films put together. It is that kind of film," the actor revealed. Hakkim's character can be seen for a second or so in the recently unveiled glimpse video announcing the Jailer 2 release date.

Production on the film has been wrapped. It also stars Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa, Shivarajkumar, Vinayakan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sujith Shankar of Maheshinte Prathikaaram fame, Vijay Sethupathi, Yogi Babu, Bagavathi Perumal, and Kottayam Naseer, among others. On the technical front, it has composer Anirudh, cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan, editor R Nirmal, and art director DRK Kiran.

Produced by Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 is slated for an October 15 release in theatres. Rajinikanth also has a film with Kamal Haasan, directed by Nelson himself, and another film, Dharman, with director Ashwath Marimuthu and produced by Kamal.
